August 16, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

A one-day event devoted to exploring Scotland’s rich industrial heritage.

The first half of the day will provide a background to Scotland’s key industries, including iron and steel, mining, shipbuilding, textiles and engineering.

In the afternoon, attention will move on to considering how industrial heritage is managed, including via archaeology projects and designation and recording programmes.

Key issues will include the use and availability of records and archives, the potential for regeneration and adaptive re-use, the application of digital technologies, and the value of industrial heritage in education and training, including for the promotion of STEM subjects.

Please advise of any dietary requirements in advance.
